  1. BOARD MEMBER COMMENTS

Jacob Case – Mr. Case thanked everyone for coming today.  He thanked Dr. Gullion and Central Office staff for doing a great job with financing and switching over to the new Komputrol program.

Alice Gillis – Ms. Gillis thanked Ms. Wilder for her updates.  She appreciates Dr. Gullion for his great report and keeping us afloat.

Valerie Alexander – Ms. Alexander stated she will support both Wick’s pies sales for both schools.  She thanked Ms. Wilder for her updates and is glad everyone got through NWEA.  She commented she is a fan of that testing because it helps reflect what’s going on in the classroom.

Lance Engle – Mr. Engle thanked Mr. Kile, Mr. Adams, Mr. Mayol, and Mr. Parrott for coming to the Albany Town Meeting the other day and presenting all the new changes happening at Albany Elementary.  He really appreciates them taking the time to do that and present to the public.  He stated he heard lots of great comments afterwards and he appreciates the time and effort for making that happen.

John Adams – Mr. Adams concurred with his fellow board members.  He thought Mr. Mayol and Mr. Kile did a great job of explaining everything at the Albany Town Meeting.  He stated there were folks behind them and they obviously had not gone through any updates in a long time in a school and he heard people talking in the crowd, which was good.  He thinks the sentiment of us putting money in the building means it’s going to be around for a long time and he thinks that was well-deserved by the crowd and he knows the town officials are certainly gracious for that.  He thanked all of the staff and administrators for getting school off the ground and getting it moving.  He knows it’s exciting to get the year started, but there is a lot of work with planning and things that go on behind the scenes.  He stated many hours are spent to make sure everything is ready for the kids when they show up and from the board, he thanked everyone for the jobs they do.  He stated it’s not easy and if it was, everyone would do it and they don’t because it takes special people to do this kind of thing.  He stated he’s heard nothing but good things, everything seems to be going well, campus looks great, sports teams are out doing their thing, and you can’t ask for much more than that.
