FORTY YEARS OF DELTA
ATHLETICS
Past

Future
On
Sunday, Oct. 5, the Delta High School Athletic Department will host
a free event, "Delta Athletics: Our Past, Present and Future."
The event will be from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. in the main gymnasium.
Purdue University men's basketball coach Matt Painter, a 1988 Delta
HS graduate, will be the keynote speaker. The 38-year-old
Painter was chosen Big Ten Coach of the Year last season and was a
finalist for National Coach of the Year. He will discuss the impact
of Delta athletics in his life.
The afternoon will be a celebration of the past 40 years of Delta
athletics. Anyone who has ever played athletics at Delta in
any sport is encouraged to attend and will be introduced to the
crowd that afternoon.
There will be raffles and a silent auction of sports memorabilia to
benefit Delta athletics.
There will be light refreshments.
Delta Volleyball Star, Darcy Dorton, will also be speaking about the impact of Delta athletics on
her life. Athletic Director Stan Daugherty will speak about the future
of Delta athletics. Prominent coaches from the past will be on hand to
introduce former Delta athletes.
Items for the silent auction will be listed on this site as they become
available. Check back for frequent updates.
